ARTemis

Welcome to my new Space-Themed ARTemis page which is devoted to Fluid Art created to show the wonders of the universe.

The ARTemis space theme and name was cheekily taken from the NASA Artemis mission which will land the first woman and first person of colour on the Moon!

For those of you who are space enthusiasts, you may know that NASA’s ARTEMIS mission is an acronym for: Acceleration, Reconnection, Turbulence and Electrodynamics of the Moon's Interaction with the Sun.

But for me, I like the other reason NASA chose this name.

Artemis was the ancient Greek goddess associated with nature and hunting as well as female independence! Artemis was the daughter of Zeus and twin sister of Apollo, god of the sun. The Artemis mission is also the logical name for the successor to the Apollo missions that put the first humans on the Moon in the 1960’s.

Please let me know what you think of my new space theme adventure: to interpret and blend futuristic space exploration with ancient Greek mythology - using fluid art!
