Creating with fluid paint is a journey   

 

A journey of acceptance, compromise, appreciation, perseverance and seeing the beauty of the unexpected, of the not always perfect, of the unbalanced, of the unusual.

Fluid Art to me is like life itself.  

 

The movement of the paint, the wonderful patterns, the superimposed colours may create magic that is hard to imagine, but there are times when you have little control over it. And sometimes it turns ugly for no reason, there is no beauty, no balance, just muddled colours that don’t seem to interact.

But you keep trying to have better control, keep trying to do something new, take a different approach, apply more colour, swipe, pour, tilt, blow, spray, splash – and you don’t give up because ultimately you do want to have some control, you do want to become better at it … and sometimes you succeed, and sometimes you fall back to where you started.

 

Giving up control and acceptance of one’s fallibility comes with patience and self-awareness, with a big pinch of determination and perseverance! 

Fluid Art teaches me to do that.
